The GRAMH team hosts monthly workshops at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs to engage undergraduate research assistants and support their holistic academic journey, along with the Black Girl Youth Advisory Board and Research Team. Workshops are divided into three key sections: research skills, community building, and professional development.
Undergraduate research assistants develop skills to become entry-level researchers and beyond. Our workshops aim to teach students how to critically engage with qualitative data, develop strong writing skills, and learn about various methodologies.
Research skills:
The GRAMH team's mission encompasses more than just research agendas. We focus on the socioemotional development of Black women and girls, which is highlighted in our workshops. This aims to promote stronger rapport among team members.
Team building activities:
Beyond GRAMH, our team members are involved in the broader professional and academic world. Our workshops seek to prepare undergraduate and high school Black women and girls for their future careers in any field they choose to pursue.
